CURRICULUM AND INSTRUCTION / ASSISTANT SUPERINTENDENT

Curriculum and Instruction

Mission Statement:
Promote student learning with excellence in curriculum, instruction and professional development.

Athens Area School District follows the backward design approach when developing curriculum.  The backward design is a method of designing educational curriculum by setting goals before choosing instructional methods and forms of assessment.  Curriculum is constantly reviewed and revised from year to year to align to the PA Core standards.  Our teachers play a critical role in developing the curriculum at Athens.
