FROM THE SUPERINTENDENT'S DESK Welcome back! We are looking forward to a great year. I would especially like to welcome those children and families who are new to the Athens Area School District. Over the summer we have had well over 140 new students register with several more expected on the first day. We also will welcome 173 wonderful young kindergarten children and 15 pre-K students to the Burnham Elementary School. I look forward to seeing everyone on Wednesday, September 1, the first day of school for the students. Parents, please remember that your children's teachers will be maintaining a web site with important information throughout the school year. Secondary teachers will also be posting grades on the school's electronic grading system, PowerSchool, throughout the year. Family involvement in a child's education is key to success as we help build foundations for future success!
