Hello SRU Elementary Families!

It is my distinct pleasure and honor to introduce myself as the new principal of SRU Elementary. I have taught Social Studies for the last decade, and hold a Masters Degree in Education, an Instructional Coaching certificate, and a Universal Design for Learning certificate. I am truly passionate about learning how to best meet the needs of our children, and strive to learn as much as I can about our special K-5 building this upcoming school year, and in the years to come. As a former history teacher, I could not be more excited to be part of a building that has such a rich history, that I hope to bring more attention to.

Personally, I have an amazing support system, including my wife that has been by my side since the 10th grade. We have two incredible children, Delaney (6), and Parker (8) that keep us busy through their numerous sports, such as soccer, wrestling, and softball/baseball. As a family, we are die hard New York Giants fans, and it’s not uncommon to see one of us representing Big Blue. I also have a brother and sister-in-law that are also both educators that have provided me guidance throughout my career. Finally, I have two wonderful parents, one of which that lives just down the road, in Ulster. 

In order to ensure we deliver on our vision of being a small community preparing learners to make a big impact as citizens and contributing members of society, as principal of SRU my focus will be on building relationships inside and outside of the school, and holding high expectations for all. When leading, students will be at the center of all school related decisions that we make. I also understand the importance in working together with families and the community to ensure the success of our children. Together, we will continue SRU on a path toward providing our students the opportunity to reach their full potential, while making a difference in the world.
